Anglia Ruskin is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.
Our Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is formed of three Schools. As a result of the implementation of a new academic faculty structure we are looking to recruit a Head of the Cambridge School of Art. The Cambridge School of Art has always been well-regarded for the teaching of drawing and illustration; we offer a broad range of art & design courses, and enrolments have grown by 25% over the last five years. Our courses are committed to the mutual reinforcement of theory and practice, whilst employability is also fully integrated into the curriculum.
As Head of School, you’ll ensure the future sustainability and enhancement of the quality and standards required to deliver world-class education. Looking at key areas of international excellence and regional need, we want to deliver research and innovation of outstanding quality and impact. You’ll deliver a culture and working environment in which collaborative and multi‑disciplinary research and innovation thrive, careers flourish, and research leadership is strengthened.
With a PhD or Professional Doctorate, you’ll be an experienced people manager with the ability to collaborate with others and to manage resources effectively. Resilient by nature, you’ll adopt change, drive innovation to transform subject areas and will be able to show a track record of systematic evidence-based improvement.
